Decide how much information you want to share about yourself, explore the advice, knowledge and information offered by other community members and help us enrich and cultivate a thriving community of scholars, professionals, and enthusiasts across academia, industry, and beyond who share a passion for the interdisciplinary field of cognitive science.
What information should I add to my profile?
When you sign up to the CogSci Space database, you will need to add your connection to Cognitive Science at Osnabrück University to your profile. All other information is optional, however, we encourage you to share as much information as you want to share and think will help other people to find you and connect on the topics you would like to engage in. For example,
- your cognitive science background
- your professional background
- your skills, hobbies, and experiences you want to share with the community
- if you can offer professional advice (e.g. career advice for academia or industry, advice for grant/scholarship applications, if your company/research group offers internships, advice on start-ups etc. ) or are open to offer mentorships
- if you can offer advice on other initiatives (e.g. founding a non-profit organization/Verein, organizing a conference etc.)
- Whether you will attend any upcoming events of the cognitive science community (e.g. IK 2025, Alumni Conference in Osnabrück 2025, CogSci Conference 2025 in San Francisco)
- whether people are invited to contact you and which contact format (and which contact topic) you are preferring
Overall, your journey matters and your experiences can inspire others! Take a few moments to share your story. Together, we can build a supportive network that drives innovation and success. By sharing your academic achievements, career milestones, and skills, you increase your visibility, making it easier for fellow alumni to connect with you—whether as a mentor, collaborator, or even a water polo buddy at the next IK!
Please note, to facilitate keeping your profile up-to-date and active in the community, we will send out reminders once a year to encourage everyone to update their shared information.
All information you add is only visible for logged-in members.
Will there be updates on upcoming events?
Yes, soon! The CogSci Space platform is constantly growing and developing. In the future, we plan to offer a dashboard with events and news in the community. Until then, you can already become a member the CogSci Network e.V. and hence receive the Newsletter, in which we distribute information and events for students, faculty and alumni in general as well as news from the association.
Is this the final version of the platform?
No. Our goal is to continue the development of the CogSci Space platform and add new features in the upcoming months. Join the network now and look forward to more features to be implemented and introduced over the next couple of months. In case you want to get involved and contribute to the implementation and development of the platform, please get in touch via mail to cogsci-network@uni-osnabrueck.de
What is the CogSci Network e.V. association and why are you building CogSci Space?
CogSci Network e.V. (https://cogsci-network.org/) is a non-profit association and network dedicated to supporting students, alumni, faculty, and staff at the Institute for Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück. Through a growing community, we connect the past, present, and future of cognitive science in Osnabrück and foster excellent scientific achievement.
We provide a platform for exchange, support, and innovation, organizing events and funding student initiatives and scientific events.
CogSci Network e.V. began as a way to connect and support alumni in the field of cognitive science. Through conversations with the community, we realized the need extended beyond alumni: current students and faculty also wanted a central hub for networking, collaboration, and resource sharing.
That’s why we built CogSci Space! It’s a platform designed to bring together the entire cognitive science community, fostering connections and driving innovation.
